Worst car rental experience ever! Had reservations for full-size vehicle. Was told to pick any car in that area, but there were NO cars. Went to kiosk, and had to wait at least 10 minutes to even get anyone's attention. Then, was told I could wait for a car to come up. I'd already waited 25 minutes at that point. Asked to upgrade from full size to SUV. I have never even had to ask for an upgrade at other companies if my reserved car type was not available. They proactively offered it. No, told to wait or take the Impala that had just come up. It was hideous, poorly cleaned, and had only 3/4 tank of gas. A mechanical problem became apparent on the highway. Car drifted all over the road...felt like we were in a boat. Upon returning, greeted with a $27 up charge for adding a driver, even though I told the customer service rep that he would be the only driver. I simply made the reservation. Oh, and the "customer service"...went to the line for a live rep. I didn't choose to go the electronic rep route. Forced to go there, and encountered numerous issues with the machine, from scanning license to reading credit card, which necessitated a wait for the live rep I wanted to begin with to walk over and address the issues. Oh...and there were at least 4 other people waiting for their non-existent cars they'd reserved to appear on the lot. Will not EVER use Hertz again. I'd give them less than 1 star if I could.
Hertz is terrible! They are not flexible at all on cancellation or altering your rental car. They are crazy expensive when you have any driver over 25. They lie and go against their policy with domestic partners and adding additional drivers. The associates are rude and unprofessional. I'll never rent from there again.
When we picked up our car their system was down. We were told we would be emailed a contract. We never received that and so when we tried to drop the car off we couldn't use ereturn and instead had to stand in line to speak with customer service. This took over half an hour and as a result we had to rush to ensure we would make it through security and to our flight.
