I visited The High while visiting family...a get-out-the-house day trip. I was pleasantly surprised by the grounds and quality. I viewed a Civil Rights exhibit that was mesmeric and moving. I would love to return and see what other treasures are there. Good job, Atlanta.

We were there a year ago when Iris Van Herpen had her dresses and other things presented. Beautiful, the guide was also great! As a big Lady gaga fan I almost collapsed when she said "and this dress was worn by gaga" Hope she'll show her dresses and else there some time again. Else every part of the museum was great!

Yesterday was Family Day at the High and my experience was horrible. I was told after being there for more than an hour to go downstairs and check in my umbrella due to the possibility of damaging the artwork in the museum. I understood the principle; however, I should have been instructed of the rule prior to going upstairs. Also, while visiting the Making Africa exhibit, we were constantly harassed and followed for taking pictures. Where there were signs of "Do Not Touch" my family and I adhered to those instructions. Where it was clearly visual interaction of patrons with the artwork, we were also harassed for listening. The security guard was rude and condescending toward the older children that were patrons adhering to the rules. I was very shocked at the atmosphere of the High and my family and I cut our visit short due to disorganization and harassment.

Nice museum to visit on a rainy afternoon. I enjoyed the art and the layout. Pretty large as we only got through two floors in the afternoon. I was a little disappointed to not see more of the "masters" work in there, that is I was not able to recognize that many artists. However, that doesn't matter all that much when it comes down to it. The art they do have is very nice and certainly worth the price of admission and then some.

Excellent way to spend an afternoon or morning! Top notch exhibits, beautiful space, fun events and friendly staff. Spend some time and find your favorites. I certainly have mine now. There’s a MARTA stop right behind the museum, or they have a paid parking deck as well.
