Highly recommend visiting this fine establishment and reading all it has to offer. My only negative was the mirror room where people defined themselves based on one thing i.e. white, black, lgbt, or what have you. Perhaps it's more personal perspective, but I think it's rather odd to boil someone down to one facet of identity when in fact we're so much more than just one word. I feel it's far more complex and beautiful, something I felt the rest of the museum aimed to highlight.

I loved my visit. I go every time I come to Atlanta. I want to alert the bookstore of the quality of their pencils. I bought several for my students and the lead in the pencils just crumbles and never sharpens. Please consider changing the vendor that makes your pencils. They are ripping you off and giving a bad impression on the store. Especially the blue ones.

Located in downtown Atlanta on the same block as the Aquarium and Coca-Cola Museum, the Center for Civil and Human Rights is a sobering experience. The main floor focuses on the American civil rights movement. The upper floor highlights global human rights with significant references to current conditions and initiatives throughout the world. The bottom floor has a small display room with correspondence and materials belonging to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This museum is an important destination for those who wish to understand how the American civil rights movement evolved and how the protection of basic rights of human beings still has a long way to go. I think this is the type of place that demonstrates how important the values of freedom, equality, and inclusion are to a moral society.

10 stars. Full of knowledge very tastefully done. The video that you sit in the bus seats is very powerful. Also try sitting at the counter with your palms on the table. WOW, if that doesn't get your feeling racing do it as many times as you can. Very moving. This museum really gets you thinking.

It was an amazing experience that should be shared with anyone willing to participate. The docents are wonderful. The exhibits are interactive and powerfully relevant. The entire design is clearly methodical and invokes feelings from every range. This is a must see for EVERYONE, regardless of race, color, sex etc.
