I have ongoing health issues so I am often in the ER...I have had an overall good experience at this hospital. The nurses and doctors move fairly fast i think the longest i have been in was 6 or 7 hours mainly due to tests
After speaking with the doctor about her not checking in with the patient the ball began to roll. I don't doubt that there are many moving parts and that the doctors depend on other departments to assure that their patients get the necessary care...feed back is critical for patients and their families. However a simple explanation, good bedside manners, and professional demeanor would be more tolerable then a lackadaisical attitude.

They took gud care of me n my kids in er
I visited the ER with pain and swelling in my legs, feet and ankles. I was in so much pain that security brought a wheelchair to my car. I was there for seven hrs & only a pain pill. I was not sent to the lab for blood or urine. The level of service was poor, communication poor & they treat the patients like they really don't care. Then as I lay in the hallway....they carried out a dead person right past me. I know everyone who goes to ER doesn't make it back home, but to wheel dead people out with sick people lined on both sides of the walls was somewhat disturbing. Maybe they can have special area just for the funeral homes. I will not go back or recommend!
I had only good experiences at this Hospital. I have used the emergency dept. The young lady at check in set a very high standard. She was friendly, attentive, and professional. The rest of the staff I encountered along the way today did not let that high standard slip. They were all caring, and professional. I have been a Nurse for 19 years, most of which as a coordinator. I know the nurse managers are proud of their staff. Thank You All.
I followed the ambulance here; the patient arrived in the room at 9:30am
The care and patient interaction at Atlanta Medical Center South Campus is subpar. The staff including the doctor I interacted with do not move with any urgency, the doctor did nothing but make excuses.
The attending physician, Dr. Hamilton did not come to up date the patient until I requested to see her. Prior to my request to speak with Dr. Hamilton we had sat in the ER room 3 hrs (12:30pm).
This hospital is currently part of the well star system; I have not had this unfortunate experience at any other location. Speaks volumes!
