A classic MUST DO for Atlanta. I'm from there, so we continue the family tradition. Great place, best prices ever! Fun for everyone. Even a low cost outdoor flea market ( swap meet), sometimes cool concerts, cult classic film festivals.
The parking areas are interesting. They are bumpy like most drive-ins, but made out of asphalt. The humps are closer together than any other theater I've been to. Most of the cars around me bottomed out while they were parking and again when they left.
Such a great place. Two tickets for under 20, you can bring your own snacks, but they have concessions. Great atmosphere. Allows smoking in your car so if that bugs you careful who you park next to.
You can watch 2 movies for only $9. If your battery happens to die they have a charging machine and will come charge it for you. They show new movies (usually whichever is expected to have large crowds). They are open everyday. ON SAT AND SUN MORNINGS it operates as an outdoor swap meet/ flea market (i got like 20pairs of good socks for $5).
I missed the era of drive in theaters but they keep the experience alive and do a great job at it. The picture quality is extremely good and it truly is an experience that everyone should try at least once. I tried it out one night with my girlfriend and now we make it a point to go there at least twice a month.
It's certainly not the best drive-in we've been to. The bathrooms and concession stands near the screens are closed. To go to the bathroom during the movie you have to drive to a different area.
The screens were tiny compared to most theaters. However, the picture quality was great. The sound was also quite good.
