Had a get my passport renewed quick, as I had an unexpected trip out of the country. They were friendly and extremely helpful! I'm not sure how they've received negative comments other than they may have had new people come onboard, over the past 5 years or so, and they fixed any previous issues.
You would think that when you call - there would be a person. You would think that when you try to go into Canada they would be clear about permits. You would think they would want business. This permits process has been the MOST disgusting situation that I have ever encountered in 27 years of travel. Shame on you Canada!
I was disappointed not to be able to submit my passport application here but someone did help me by looking at my passport photos and application to make sure everything was in order. There's some conflicting information on the foreign affairs website versus what I was told in person. Have your parking validated at the consulate before you leave.
