I would appreciate hearing from the owners or management that this won't happen again. Otherwise, unfortunately, my friends and I will be choosing a competitor for my work and study spot.
I've worked in quite a few coffee shops and restaurants in the past, and never once was I allowed to kick customers out before the listed close time just because I didn't want to stay later and clean up.
It really is an interesting concept. The bakery has several samples of their products that the customer can try. The customer can then purchase whichever product that they like the best. There is also a sandwich bar towards the back of the Bakery. The prices are a little high. However, it is a good place to visit if you happen to be in Buford Highway.
A very nice pastry cafe. Spacious and nicely decor inside. Very nice outdoor seating when weather permits. A wide range variety of pastries to select from if you're their early. Obviously the selection diminishes later in the evening. Plus decent parking area.
Unfortunately, tonight I chose this spot over a few others, only because Google told me they're open until 11:00pm, since I had time-sensitive work to complete. Just before 10:30, a female employee came to my table (and apparently to the rest of the 15-20 people there at the time), telling us they were closing in 5 minutes. I was surprised and mentioned that it is listed as open until 11:00, and she said she needed to close early enough to "clean the whole store."
I generally enjoy this atmosphere, as well as the food and drinks.
The place is nice. Food is good. They some times do not know how to treat clients. I have had two or three opportunities where I have seen this.
3) they close at 11:00, but today I went at 10:50 and they told me the register was close. I told them I could buy something and maybe pay tomorrow... ( I go every other day) hey said no. And kicked me out... it was a bit upsetting.
1) I spent $30 in food and I was charged an extra $1 for a box. Another time it was an extra $2.
2) one time they had run out of nives, and I asked the lady to cut a pastry for me, and she's he said no. To use my hands to cut it..
Unlike any other -- high quality fresh baked goods, sandwiches, and in-house roasted coffee -- great service, beautiful atmosphere, and a perfect place to work. I simply love this place.
I also work on customer service, so I strive to deliver good service.
