Love their sweet tea. Probably too much sugar you should consume in a day but oh so good. The service was super nice and he delivered the food to our table. It took quite long for our food to come out maybe 20-25 minutes but it was so fresh and the portions are so generous. We got the regular or small size for both orders and couldn't finish it. A large size of something could easily feed 3 people.
Picture this- just moved to Atlanta from up North. Wife is from Asia and said she wanted to try some Southern food. We had to resort to Google because I am clueless.. We saw the reviews here and thought it was our best shot. We walk in and our first impression is how cute the place us... like a hole in the wall cafe but smartly decorated and very warm, friendly atmosphere. We explained our circumstances to the cashier and she was super friendly and chatty, we ordered jambalaya and red beans, also said hi to the owner or cook, super friendly too and apparently he brought these recipes with him from New Orleans. So then we got the food. Now I am no Southerner, or even a foodie, but I spent a little time down here before, and love to eat. In my uneducated opinion, this was the best version of both dishes I ever had. Rice was perfectly cooked, sauce exploding with many flavors/spices, meat well seasoned and cooked, and veggies fresh. All in all, great first food experience after moving here, we look forward to returning!
You know the saying... The little Hole in the Walls serve the best foods... Will this is the epitome of it all!
I have had the oowie gooey Mac n Cheese.. I have also had the Red Rice n Beans.. My Favorite.. RR&B
THE DESSERTS ARE AMAZING... MY MOUTH HAVE A PARTY WITH EACH BITE. GREAT FOOD. AWESOME EMPLOYEES. SOOTHING MUSIC. TERRIFIC OWNERS. All AROUND PHENOMENAL PLACE.. GO AND ENJOY.
Best place to eat downtown BAR NONE!.. You walk in and they treat you like family... As a matter if fact the food tastes just like your Mama made it!
Place is not fancy at all, but the food is delicious. We tried jambalaya and pasta with shrimps - spicy, but very good. And pudding bread is a killer dessert - will definitely return to taste it again (it is a kind of pie with caramel, not sure why it is called "pudding bread"...)
