Great location and resources. Renovation needed. Staff helpful and although some homeless visit they have never bothered me.
I came into the library to get some research done. Although there was a great presence of the homeless community present, the staff was not only resourceful to me but treated those of less fortune with a great level of respect and dignity. What an example to the community of how to serve and respect the human being and their spirit! Very noble and honorable!
Hello world and welcome to the worst (for obvious reasons) main library ever. There is nothing but humiliation and embaracement to face if you step into the doors - there's security harrasing you from the start. If you have a blanket you must throw it away since it's not allowed even inside your bags after your strip searched upon entering. If you need a phone or device charged face the abusive preditors starring you down from the second you're in visual range - and on-top of the intentional caughing and snorting and heckling and hacking sounds you'll receive on each floor you search for at least a single outlet - only to find that the only outlet 'available' is at a table of ex-cons. If you give in and want to use a computer get ready for more humiliation by honory staff members abusive in their every hate-charged sound and word. It's the worst main library I've ever been to, and I've been to a few since becoming homeless and staying that way thanks to the people and behaviors mentioned above. Also there is horrible internet service that blocks even Craigslist and is as slow as molasis. Today the internet isn't even available unless you're somehow inspired to ever get a 'library card' for this hellish place. It's always jam-packed nonetheless with plenty of loud-mouth extroverts who exist in every space between the intimidating mocking quite people occuping the computer areas - so it's pure and simply hatched, baked, foiled from top to bottom. HELLLLLLL!!!! Go anywhere but here if you can, but if not don't get your hopes up a single bit!
This place won't to check your bag before u come in!! For every homeless person who come here!! If I can get a penny for each one of them I would be a millionaire lol!!
Good resources! I wouldn't mind if the homeless visited the facility to work on a better future, however they go there to just sleep or bother others who are there to do real work. I had a guy asking me to borrow my phone to "use the internet" when theres plenty of computers for public use! Do not bring your own laptop or think of placing your phone outside of your pocket. The staff has to make some moves on this issue. This isn't a hotel.
